Antique FurnitureHow to Clean Antique Furniture

Antique FurnitureHow to Clean Antique Furniture

So you're looking to clean your antique furniture
and you've always heard, what should I use to clean that furniture? I'm Blake Kennedy
with Kennedy Brothers Estate Services and I'm here to help. Cleaning antique furniture
is a little funny because people go, oh, I. Don't want to hurt the patina or I don't want
to take away any paint. Well, you want to make sure what you're cleaning first.

You
want to make sure if it's a sealed piece of wood. But you never can go wrong first of
all with a good cotton rag to always have around the house or some good paper towels.
But if you want to start off by just cleaning with just water, water does a lot just to
get it off. But I also use a little soap and water here. It looks like a lot of water in
here but you put a little bit of soap in it and start off with that because that's not
going to do any harm to any piece of wood that you have.

Some people say, oh I have
sticky stuff on it, how do I get the sticky out of it, whether it's lip stick or crayons
or even gum or peanut butter. You know, you can use lemon juice if that's all you have
in your house, but I also use the Goo Off. Goo Off is a great material. You should want
to make, you know put a little bit on it and just keep rubbing until it comes completely
off.

It's not going to harm your wood. Just make sure you get it completely off. One of
the biggest things that I have, that people ask me is what about, how much should I wax
my dining room table? People love to use Pledge. Pledge is a nice item, but Pledge has a wax
in it.

And they always start off in the middle of the table and they spray and then they
go out. Well, that's just putting wax build up on that table because most of the ware
on a dinning room table on an antique table is along the edges where the people put their
arms and rest their arms and move and slide. That's where you should wax, when you spray
Pledge. Pledge is a good product, but don't start off in the middle because the middle
of the table has plenty of wax on it, a really good sealant on it.

You don't need to build
it up any more than it already is. But, you know just start off, soap and water you can't
go wrong with, even the 409 cleaning like that. If you have a little bit of crevices
you have to get in to with some ornament work, use a light bristle brush and make sure you
get in there with a little soap and water and it'll eventually dry out. But don't be
afraid to clean that antique furniture.

I'm Blake Kennedy and I hope that helped..

22 Ways How to Revamp Old Furniture #2

22 Ways How to Revamp Old Furniture #2

Everyone has some old furniture sitting around the house Grandmas old arm chair with tattered upholstery, or an old desk you acquired in college, but never found very appealing. Look around your home for those items that you tend to avoid, but wish could be restored. Once youve identified what you have that could be revamped, set them aside and do some research. Here are 22 ways to revamp old furniture that youre going to love.

12. Pastel Spray Painted Chairs. For a fresh new look to some drab old chairs, run out and grab a couple cans of fun-colored spray paints. If you do each chair a different color, it keeps things interesting not only for you, but also for guests in your house.

We recommend using chairs without cushions for this project. While youre out, grab some rust guard in a spray bottle. After sanding up the chairs a bit, spray on the rust guard and allow it to dry completely. Next, with quick swiping patterns, and avoiding getting the can of paint too close to the chair, paint each chair its special color.

Make sure youre outside and away from anything you prefer not to turn into a new color. When youre done, you have a fun new look to a previously boring set of chairs! 13. Drop Cloth Stool. If you dont already have a plain wooden stool, you can find one at a yard sale without any problems.

Theyre very common, but the goal of this fun DIY project is to make it into a very fun, but uncommon stool. Using some general padding from a local craft store, drape it over the stool head. Then find some drop cloth to drape over the padding, leaving the edges long enough to wrap around and attach the material to the bottom of the stool head. For a vintage rosette look, cut thin strips of drop cloth, roll them into long skinny strips, and curl them around and attach them all the way around the edge of the stool with a hot glue gun.

Youll come out with a cool rosette drop stool. The rosettes are so pretty they almost look like a wedding cake! 14. Reclaimed Wooden Headboard. In order to reclaim an old headboard to your bed, use stinkwood to create a natural-feeling headboard with the beauty of real wood.

Stinkwood is reclaimed wood that has already been finished and comes with adhesive on the back already. Its perfect for this project, especially if youre not a carpenter. Measure the pieces of stinkwood and attach them all together, fitting them like a puzzle on the surface of the headboard. Once the stinkwood is all in place as youd like, coat the entire headboard with a layer of shiny polyurethane and let it dry completely.

Now you have a new natural look to your bedroom in just a few simple steps! 15. Basic Side Chair Revival If youre left with an old dated side chair, why not amp it up with this cool DIY project? First, remove the actual seat. Set it aside. Now touch up the wooden frame by sanding any rough or uneven parts (we realize it is an old chair, after all).

You can even use some wood filler to fill in any places that need a patch. Pick a cool color you want to paint the chair and give it some love with spray paint. It may take several coats to cover up the wood, but it shouldnt take too long. After your chair frame is redone in your new color, find a fabric to redo the seat of the chair.

Stretch it over the padding (you may also need new padding) and fasten it below for a cool look when you replace the seat! 16. Campaign Desk Revival If you come across a cool old campaign-style desk, heres a fun DIY project that is easy and will update your old desk. Since this style of desk has a lot of brass furnishings, youll either want to remove them totally from the desk for this project or cover them with tape. If they need a good brass polish, its best to just remove them and put them back on later! For the desk itself, use a light sander to get it to the texture you want, then repaint the desk with a color of your choice.

For desks this size, it may take quite a bit of spray paint with multiple coats. Let it dry completely before replacing your brass parts. When youre done, youve got a cool vintage desk with an updated look. 17.

DIY Mirror Nightstands To make a cool mirror night stand out of a plain night stand, you can purchase a cheap nightstand from Ikea, assemble it, and begin painting the edges of the stand the color youd like. Using small mirrors that match the size of the drawers, glue them on carefully using a general adhesive glue. Use clips to allow the glue to dry to the mirror for optimum hold. You can find some cool or fancy knobs that attach straight onto the mirror with a more powerful glue.

18. Kilim Rug Bedside Bench Make your own bedside rug using a flat sheet of plywood, a cool rug with a pattern you love (and that goes with your room), and some basic legs for the stool. In this example, Emma used some pretty modern-style legs for the stool. Direct instruction: Cut your plywood to the exact size you need to be the surface of the stool.

Apply a layer of foam to the surface of the stool and then cover with the rug material, fastening the edges under the bottom. Next, just attach your stools legs and you have a sweet new bedside rug stool. 19. Upholstered Coffee Table Have a coffee table that could use a little updating? A cool modern way to dress it up is by adding upholstery! Youll have to start by stripping old paint off using a sander and paint the frame of the table a color of your choice.

To make some neat upholstery pads, use a piece of plywood cut to the size you want on top of the table. If you want buttons, youll have to drill holes in the plywood where you want the buttons to attach. Next, place your foam and upholstery material to the top of the plywood. Use an L-shaped hinge to attach these pieces to the actual table.

Once youve attached the buttons, pull everything tight and make sure the material is stapled well underneath, and then attach your final product to the top of the table for a cool new padded coffee table! 20. Office Chair Makeover Almost everyone has an old office computer chair that could use some DIY love. First, unattached the seat and back of the computer chair. If you want new padding, now is the time to add it to the seat and chair back.

Using a fun patterned material (we like this hounds tooth pattern), cover the surface area with the material and fasten on the bottom of the chair. After you replace the back and seat, youve got a cool new look to a previously sad computer chair. 21. Farmhouse-style makeover Find some discount furniture youd like to redo.

Dont be afraid to experiment with things you think will work. Older wooden pieces tend to soak up the paint, so you may need to use several coats of paint. For a cool shadowed look start with a lighter color paint and then spread a darker color paint overtop with big motions in order to leave some of the lighter color showing. If you want to blend the colors more, get your brush a little bit wet and go over the surface again.

You can use some paste finishing wax in order to seal your paint in. And last, Add to your old bookshelf with some custom accessories Using some inexpensive objects, you can take your bookshelf to the next level. By using the core of a roll of duct tape, you can spray paint it gold and hot glue it to a few others for a fancy-looking set of rings to put on the shelf. Using simple cut-out shapes, mix your paper colors and frame it with words on the shelf.

Find some inexpensive mini cups that look like trophies, and use your gold spray paint to dress it up. Get creative with what you use and decorate your shelves! Bonus. And This video will close our presentation: Transform Your Room Challenge By using small but key elements, this room was easily transformed into something memorable and unique. Another key to transforming a room is to think about how youd like to use the space.

22 Ways How to Revamp Old Furniture #1

22 Ways How to Revamp Old Furniture #1

Everyone has some old furniture sitting around the houseGrandmas old arm chair with tattered upholstery, or an old desk you acquired in college, but never found very appealing. Look around your home for those items that you tend to avoid, but wish could be restored. Once youve identified what you have that could be revamped, set them aside and do some research. Here are 22 ways to revamp old furniture that youre going to love 1.

Dip Dye Chair- Sometimes your piece of old furniture just needs a little makeover. In this easy DIY project, youre basically just repainting the chair or table. If the whole thing needs a solid coat of paint first, start there. Once it is in good condition paint-wise, choose a color that goes well with the room where the chair is located.

Now tape off the legs at the height you want your chair dipped and spray paint the legs below where youve taped. Peel off the tape and voila! Your new custom-dipped paint job is easily revamped! 2. Bottle Cap Table- If you have an old card table or small table thats just sitting around the house, turn it into a cool bottle cap table in this DIY project. First, youll have to make sure the table and legs are prepped.

Once thats complete, youre going to make a new top for the table using plywood. Stick bottle caps in the pattern you want onto the new surface using some heavy duty glue or construction adhesive. Grout can be used to pack in the empty space around the bottle caps and later polished away to reveal a cool new flat surface with your favorite bottle caps! 3. Stenciled Folding Chairs- Have some old drab folding chairs you like to break out when at family game night? Dress them up to look like a fancy fabric-covered seat by repainting with a few coats of your favorite color, then use some cool stencils to trace a pattern on the seat after your original paint dries completely.

Use a sharpie to trace the stencils, and be sure to curl your design over the curved lip of the seat so that it looks like fabric. Finally, fill in your tracings via your color choice of paint. Now youve got a cool set of folding chairs no one else will have! 4. Faux Marble Tabletop- An old plain-Jane table (especially a round one) is perfect to use when creating a cool faux marble table top look.

By using faux marble contact paper, you can place it face-down on the table and trace/cut around the edges. Remove the paper and youve got a cool marble look to your table. To keep things more permanent, consider covering the table top with glass. 5.

Cross Stitch Chair- Have an old cane web chair ? Revamp it with a cool cross-stitched look. First, make sure your chair is stained how youd like, bringing out the natural colors of the wood with oil or polish. Then section off the parts of the web youd like to cross-stitch. Next, determine your color scheme and pattern of the stitching and make a plan on paper.

Choose the yarn in colors you like, and begin stitching diagonally through the holes of the web. This isnt anything technicalits a matter of pushing the yarn through the holes in the webbing. Of course it will take a while, but when youre finished, you have a really unique cross-stitched chair. 6.

Leather Belt Chair  If the cross-stitch thing just isnt your thing, try this alternative, which is just as cool. Everyone has a lot of old belts they never wear. Take a few extra belts, or find some for cheap at a discount store, and get to work. First, you remove the seat of a wooden framed chair.

Next, stretch the belts in a creative pattern across the seat, weaving the belts together in a crisscross pattern. For extra security, pull the belts tight and fasten them underneath on the inside of the frame. 7. Paper Wrapped Chair- For anyone who has an old wooden vintage chair, where the back is separated from the seat, using fancy paper can be a cool redo.

Choose a kind of wall paper that goes with the colors of the room, or maybe something that gives a nice pop of color. With only scissors, paper, Mod Podge glue, a medium-sized sponge, and an exacto knife, youre on your way to a cool vintage-looking chair. Just use the glue to attach a larger-than-needed section of the decorated paper to the back of the chair. Spread the glue evenly using the sponge.

Make sure to push out any bubbles in the paper, and once its dry you can use the knife to cut away the excess paper. 8. Decorative table legs- For a cool new look to an old table, you can use decorative napkins and adhesive to give a fun new look. Find some fancy napkins (good quality) with a pattern you like.

Using a paintbrush, spread the Mod Podge adhesive glue onto the table leg. This works really well on Ikea tables which have easily detachable legs. Split the napkin into layers, and place the napkin onto the leg with glue. Be careful to get out any wrinkles.

Now, using a clear acrylic sealer, paint it evenly over top of the napkin for even coverage and let it dry! 9. Leather Sling Sofa  Recycle used materials into a cool new sling-style sofa! If you find an old used leather couch you can strip the material off and sew it together to form the back of this fresh little sofa. Youll want to keep the pieces of leather as large as possible in order to have the best backing for the sofa. Then using wood (specified in the link under the video), wooden dowels, and screws or bolts, you can assemble the frame of the small sofa.

This project can get a bit technical, so be sure to read all the way through and carefully follow the directions. Youll need a few special tools both for assembling the frame and sewing the leather. But when youre done, youre left with a cool sling-style sofa thats sure to be the unique piece in your home! 10. Kids Table Makeover  Have a kids table thats a bit beat up? In this DIY project, you can turn that old table into something fun and cool the kids will love.

By removing the old seat and back of the chairs, you can easily spray paint the frames with a fresh color. Next, add a new material over the seat covers and staple the material down before attaching the seat and back to the chair frame again. Using a few thin and cheap boards from your local hardware store as well as liquid nails, you can attach everything according to the directions listed in the link to make a smooth new table top. Sand the top of the table once everything is attached for a smoother finish.

Youll coat the top of the table with a few coats of semi-gloss polyurethane. And there you have it a cool new used kids table! And last, Number 11. Recovered Mid-Century Burke Chair  For an older chair that needs a little pizazz (like this mid-century Burke chair), you can find some really neat material to cover it with. Youll have to first remove the cushions and upholstery.

Cut the material in the way you want to lay it over the cushions, leaving the edges long enough to wrap around the back of the cushion and fasten with small staples. This is a really fun and easy project. And the best part is you can salvage material from almost anywhere that will make a cool patterned cushion on your restored chair! Thats it, since youre still watching, care to like this video, share it with your friend or comment it. Press subscribe button if you cant find this channel in your subscription tab.

And thanks for watching.

20 Small Kitchen Makeover and Furniture ideas

20 Small Kitchen Makeover and Furniture ideas

20 Small Kitchen Makeover Ideas You must have a reason for typing 20 small kitchen makeover ideas into your search
engine. Maybe you find creative inspiration from the
way a kitchen is designed, or maybe you want to extend your cooking area, or you simply
want your cooking kitchen to look brighter and comfier. Here are some ideas for that kitchen makeover: 20. One Tone!
The vintage stove is so charming that even when the environment looks more current and
fashionable, your focus will shift to the stove.

The stove is certainly not something to remove
while doing a makeover. What you can actually do is to give the other
elements the same color with the stove. You may repaint those surfaces with highlight
colors that have the same hue as the stove. You should also remember to change the knob
so that it suits the entire design.

19. Painting without Sanding.
Most DIY projects require that you do some sanding if you're working with wooden materials. It is impossible to skip this process and still
get a perfect result. For this, you will need a rinse substitute,
primer, de-glosser, and paint.

First, unmount the cabinet doors and clean
it thoroughly with the rinse substitute. Then apply de-glosser and later a thin layer
of primer after the de-glosser has dried. Then paint the door and mount it back in its
place. The result is quite pleasant.

18. Concrete Countertop.
You can give the top of your counter a new look, using a concrete mix. Get the concrete mixture ready, along with
camuba wax, sealer, and sandpaper. Layer the old counter top surface and sides
with thin concrete mixture and allow it to dry.

Smoothen the countertop with sandpaper and
then add another layer. Repeat the layering process to get five layers. Apply sealer and camuba wax with a brush to
seal the concrete. This process may take a while because of repeated
layering.

17. Peninsula and Corbel.
Cover your peninsula with planked wood, so it gets a new look. Protect the edges with adjustable mold trim,
and use gun nails to set the plank in its place. Sand the plank and fill in the nail holes,
before painting.

After the paint dried, add wood glue to the
corbels and start installing them immediately. Set them on both ends, as if they support
the peninsula surface. 16. Countertops for Butcher.
It is very easy to cut your budget for counter top, but you have to invest your time instead.

Purchase a butcher block from the store to
fit your kitchen size. Then seal both the surface and bottom of the
block with sealer liquid to protect it from heat, scratches, and moisture. If you want to paint the block, do it and
apply sealer too. Next, you have to cut the area for the sink
and also join the corner.

Lastly, install the counter in its place with
a fastener. 15. Functional Kitchen.
When you move to a new house, the kitchen arrangement could be awkward and not satisfying.
Sometimes with an oversized island in the middle. You could make the space more functional and
good looking.

The basic rule is that the sink, stove, and
fridge should be in one continuous line. As for the oversized island, you could remodel
it by making spaces for throwing garbage. The idea is to simply wipe the leftover foods
or vegetables literally under the table. To make things look better, you could coordinate
the color of the kitchen and island countertop.

14. White and Gray Cabinet Makeover.
When you purchase cabinets from the store, they usually have similar colors. Lighten them up a bit with a white and gray
tone. Ask for a cabinet transformer on your next
visit to the store.

It is almost all that you need. Take off the all the doors, starting with the cabinet. Apply a layer of the de-glosser solution and
apply the first white coat immediately. Let it sit for three hours and go on to the
second layer.

Repeat the same process for the bottom cabinet as well. 13. Kitchen Refacing.
It involves replacing the cabinet door with one with a different style. In the process, there will be no kitchen re-setting.

It is an improvement for cabinets only. Start by purchasing your desired cabinet doors. You will also need to repaint the body of
the cabinet, so buy a similar paint tone with the new door . Unmount the old door, and paint
the body of the cabinet first.

You can then mount the new cabinet doors. 12. Charming Molding.
If you love your current cabinet, you can simply add molding just to upgrade the look. It will not take away the original beauty
of the cabinets.

You need molding wood, which you can easily
get at the store. Then get your ruler and take measurements
to align with the cabinet. Make sure you mark the area where you want
the molding to be attached. Try to arrange the molding and glue it once
you are satisfied with the result.

Lastly, repaint the cabinet doors and enjoy
the upgrade. 11. Fancy Range Hood.
If you use a built-in stove, then you will have a range hood installed with it. It functions as a fan, keeping the stove cool.

Most range hoods come with a trim design. You can upgrade the look with another trimming
trick! Like always, you need to remove the old molding. Sand the wood and create a trapezoidal shape
sketch. Cover the marks of the old molding with paint,
then attach the new molding and a bead board wallpaper.

10. Chippy Table.
If you happen to notice that your dining room table pedestals are chippy, you can also take
the opportunity to make the dining table fancier. Replace the legs with fancier ones. Use a half sized table if you prefer a private
dinner.

Give it a farmhouse look with several wall
shelves on top of the table. Fill it with delicious spices, and a fancy
decoration. 9. Pattern Countertop.
The simple makeover could start from the counter tops.

Again, you have to block the colors and pattern:
having two colors or two patterns in a single item will ruin the whole set. To solve the problem, you could stain the
countertop with granite color. Since the counter top would be the main focus,
use dark paint on the upper and lower cabinets. Pick tone from the nearby hue for the floor.

For the tap, it is suggested to pick silver
hardware. 8. Working Table to Kitchen Island.
Create your own kitchen island instead of spending too much money to buy one. All you need is your old desk, cedar wood
plank, and some paint.

Since you are renovating the whole look, attach
a wallpaper with a similar tone on the bottom board. Tear up the top board and replace it with
cedar plank as the new countertop. Stain it and protect the color with sealer. Attach a hook on one side to hang your kitchen
mittens and other equipment.

You may also install casters to help you move
it easily. 7. Expand the Island.
If your current kitchen island is not big enough for you to do all cooking preparation,
then expand your island by applying the concept of a table. You will get additional space on both sides.

Pull out the counter tops and drawers so that
you can build the frame. Make sure it adds equal size on both wings
and has one wide board on the top. Support the wings with fancy legs and the
board with chic trimming. 6.

Space for Oven.
If you got a new oven as a gift after your kitchen has been arranged, you would need
a nice place with no obstructions to put it. Make use of the space under your extended
kitchen island. If you need to build or purchase a shelf that
fits under the island. Make two rows on the shelf: one for the oven
and the other one for the cookbook or baking equipment.

5. Bright Classic.
People who like old comfort who definitely prefer this. Start with the cabinets that are mounted horizontally
on the wall. Pick a new color tone for them.

Pair it up with a two-tone lighter back splash. For the floor, use brick color and install
the tiles diagonally. Put two tall chairs with classic pattern seating
and low back in the dining area. Light up the room with candle pendant light
and place a flower vase on the table.

4. Peeking Through the Glass.
This allows you to display your kitchen utensils. Remove your cabinet door and cut off the center
square of your cabinet door. Measure the plexiglass and cut it.

Attach the cut glass on the cabinet door by
using a silicone gel. Allow the glass and gel to dry. Cut the trim molding to fit the size of the
glass. Glue it on the sides and hide the raw edges.

3. Open Shelving Pantry.
Sometimes when cooking, you may need to go all the way to the fridge just to get the
spices. You can fix this by building an open pantry. All you need is planked wood, oak stain, and
L bracket.

Start by mounting the L bracket on the wall,
to set the place for the wood. Then stain the wood with oak color and let
it dry before installing it on the L bracket. You can now arrange your spices in the pantry. And you can label the spices to make them easy
to locate.

2. Cozy and Preppy.
Make your kitchen look more fancy and homey by installing new lighting and hardware. For instance, you can replace the current
lamp with a pendant lamp and make the faucet slightly chopper with shining silver. You might also need to replace old cabinets
with a better one.

Replace old cabinets with a cupboard so that
you can get extra space for storage. Also, extend your window area close to the
ceiling to get more access to natural lighting. 1. Warm Lighting.
For this idea, you need about three sets of lighting to get the desired result.

You first install the first lighting inside the
cabinet that has a glass frame. Then you place the second lighting above the
sink and counter tops, focused directly in the center. The third lighting will hang from the ceiling. Paint the lower cabinet with warm orange tone and
use black tiles for the flooring.

Now sit back and enjoy your finished makeover. There you go, I hope you found some helpful ideas here. Like this video, share it or even better,

This cabinet originally comes under the beat up ugly white paint. And this is what it took to give this white box a new life: First, Sanding all over the paint on the drawer, Add 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of high-gloss enamel paint, Attached 6 inch Mid Century Modern style wood and metal legs from Home Depot and then add 2 coats of tung oil on the drawer and legs only When it finished the result is amazing 2. In order to hide the wood supports that the brackets were attached to, add a couple of 12s around the edge as trim. Paint the dresser red and after two weeks of drying time This is what its looks like 3.

Add Legs to a Mid Century Modern Dresser In this project, Sarah and David create their own legs to makeover the dresser from furniture sales. Here how to do it: First, start off with a piece of 1x8 inch wood. Create the curve by using a ridged piece of string and measured the midpoint of the board to the end point of the board. To make sure that the curve was equal, one held the pencil and string tight at the top and touched the midpoint and both of the ends and the other adjusted the string at the bottom.

Then they repeated for the bottom curve (about 2 inch thick). After they finished, with the jigsaw, they cut out the curve. Determined the measurements and then cut the legs according the design within those guidelines. They glued and clamped the curved piece to the leg.

And after it dried, drilled through both at an angle with a 3/8 inch bit, put some wood glue in the hole and inserted a dowel rod and cut off the excess. Last, they mount the legs to the supports using screws from underneath then reattached the support to the dresser. 4. Silver Metallic Furniture Painting DIY Princess Chair Makeover!

DIY Perak Cat Victoria Chair Makeover Untuk proyek ini Anda akan memerlukan beberapa
berdasarkan minyak cat perak.

Pastikan Anda menggoyang cat Anda benar-benar baik sebelum Anda mulai.

Saya biasanya menambahkan beberapa baris tambahan

Aku membiarkan saya kering cat selama delapan jam sebelum

besar. Saya suka cat dan aku mencintai warna. Jadi terima kasih untuk menonton silakan
periksa kembali saya memasang video baru semua waktu dan saya memiliki semua jenis video DIY untuk furniture, meja rias, pelapis dan
beberapa DIY hal perbaikan rumah.

Terima kasih untuk menonton! Kamu.
