General HousekeepingHow to Clean Wood Furniture

General HousekeepingHow to Clean Wood Furniture

Hi. This is Ann Myrick. Today I'm going to
show you how to clean wood furniture. What you first want to do is you want to; the furniture
has been sitting and so there will be dust, a little bit of dust.

So, you always want
to start off like you would on a floor, sweep your floor before you mop it. You want to
sweep or dust your furniture before you start cleaning it. I am using just a normal paintbrush
that I only use for this type of situation. So, it's a very clean, dry paintbrush.

I am
just getting all my dust and if there's cob webs off. I'm going to go over it again with
a paper towel. Then I am going to use a solution of a wood soap, Murphy Oil Soap, or any other
type of soap that is good for furniture; wood furniture. A fourth of a cup soap to a gallon
of water.

I'm going to ring my sponge out really well and then I'm just going to circular
motion the furniture. Then I'm also going to go with the grain of the furniture and
then I'm going to take a dry paper towel or a terry cloth towel and I'm going to dry it
really well, because you do not want your water to sit on your furniture; on your wood.
So, you just want to dry it really well and this also buffs it. This is Ann Myric and
that is how to clean wood furniture..
